I had a delightful stay at Hotel New Akao, where the onsen facilities were a real highlight, offering serene ocean views. The outdoor car park was convenient, and I particularly enjoyed the high-quality breakfast buffet, which included a variety of delicious Japanese dishes.

The ocean view from the room was absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise when the colors painted the sky. The onsen experience was exceptional, especially the one on Horizon 3F with gorgeous views. Having the option for both public and private onsens added a nice touch. Meals were a highlight with various choices of Japanese cuisine at the buffet, though it felt impersonal in the large dining area, reminiscent of dining on a cruise ship. Navigating between the two wings of the hotel took a while due to the multiple elevators, which added some frustration, especially when heading to meals. The buffet can feel overwhelming, making it tough to enjoy dining fully. While the Royal Wing offered a relaxing atmosphere, the older furnishings in the main building were noticeable. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with unique offerings, but some areas could use better organization.

views that truly enhance the experience. The staff was welcoming, and while the food options were somewhat limited for longer stays, the Japanese breakfast was delightful. A special moment was enjoying onsen under the stars, creating lasting memories of relaxation.

The hotel is confusingly laid out with two separate buildings and four slow elevators, which can make navigation a hassle—especially when trying to reach the main dining area on the lower floors. My room had outdated furnishings and a tiny bathroom with a lingering smell, impacting comfort. Additionally, the towels provided were insufficient for using the onsen and shower, requiring frequent trips back and forth to the reception for replacements. Checking in for meals online felt cumbersome, compounded by the lengthy queues for both breakfast and dinner during peak hours. making plans involved unnecessary trips to the second floor when everything ideally should've been manageable at the reception.

The onsen was fantastic-seriously, the views from it were like nothing I’d seen before. And at night, the ocean sounded like music, so relaxing.

It wasn’t exactly cheap though, could've been better price.
